Our 10 years anniversary bash…

Yesterday we had our 10 year anniversary party here in Fontenay, it was great to invite some of our friends over from the last 10 years, to celebrate.

Thumpah and me first met on the evening of the 5th July 1996 at St Margarets Bus Station, Leicester, when she came up from France to come and visit me for the weekend.
We had been corresponding as penfriends for about 4 months – and finally we made that crunch decision to meet up.

10 years on… I’ve been living in France for 9 years (we’ll celebrate the 10 years next year too!), we are still together and happy here in our little village dans la région parisienne.

Over the last few days I’ve been putting together a photo slideshow with a selection of photos from when I first came over to France in August 1996 to visit Isa, up until today. Suddenly I realise that we’ve done an awful lot over the last 10 years and have met some really wonderful people.

Once finished I’ll be sending a copy to all our friends both in France and in the UK. 🙂

Thanks to everyone for being there yesterday afternoon… and to those who couldn’t be there… and to Bernadette, Campbell and Christophe for providing “taxis” for those who didn’t come by car yesterday, and to Pascal and Catherine for help with the photos and of course… to mon amour who has supported me so much during my time in France.

  1. Sorry you couldn’t make it either – but next year I hope to celebrate my 10 years in France, so now you have plenty of warning. 🙂

  2. Let’s hope that’ll be soon. I think it’s disgusting that the French administration blame those without papers for being in France, when in fact it’s often the fault of the administration for not dealing with each case properly.

    Typically French…
