Soon we’ll be three…

That could mean many things – I suppose…

Both Thumpah and I are happy to announce to our friends and online buddies, that around the end of May 2007 (all being well) we’ll have someone new in our household – yes… Thumpah is expecting and it goes without saying that we are over the moon.
So we are about to embark on parent-hood, a little late, but better late than never. This will certainly change our lives considerably without a doubt, and I’ll have to get used to speaking in English at home soon.

Already we’ve started clearing out one of the bedrooms – maybe a little in advance as Thumpah is only at 6 weeks, but we now have about 7 months or so to prepare for the happy event, hoping that it’s not going to be a difficult time for Thumpah.

  1. Congratulations! That is great news.
My husband and I are considered older parents of young children, but as you said, better late than never and heck, they keep us young 🙂

  3. Hi Meredith,

I hope that it’ll keep us young – although I looked in the mirror this morning to see some grey hairs appearing. 🙂

    John.

  5. Felicitations! What wonderful news–you sound thrilled and relieved and a little apprehensive (in other words, like many expectant parents)!. I can’t wait to be able to profile your bilingual, bicultural baby on my blog next year.

  7. Hi Sarah,

It’s early days, but we hope that everything for my gf will be OK and that we’ll learn how to bring up our baby in a bi-lingual household.

We live in a rural area and my family in the UK have never visited us here in France, so his/her world will be totally French, apart from us speaking English, for most of the time. My French in-laws live close by.
