Yesterday our friends Anne(German), Yoshi (Japanese) and their son Nao came round for lunch. As seems to be the norm in the Paris area for most of our friends, they had to travel 60 odd km’s from their place. Why do our friends live so far away…?
We had a lovely afternoon with them. Little Nao is such a nice little guy – he is so well behaved, and he is only 5. Between Thumpah and me, we prepared a nice roast chicken English Sunday lunch (even if it was Saturday). Anne and Yoshi were so surprised that we Brits eat so much on one plate… mashed potato, roast potato, peas, carrots, broccoli, stuffing, Yorkshire Pudding – and of course… the chicken, not forgetting some Bisto gravy with the chicken juices in.
Then we had a nice cheese course… Brebis, Tomme, Camembert & St Agur… followed by Chocolate Brownie and Crème Anglaise (or if you are me… over sweet watery custard).
Bet your mouth is watering eh? Food aside…
Anne and Yoshi have been really generous with some baby stuff and bought a couple of boxes of clothes with them, and a lovely baby towel that came from Japan. The photo above shows all the baby things that we’ve had from friends and family over the last couple of months. So far, we have nearly everything for the first year at least.
Thumpah has been busy knitting new outfits – I’m amazed at how quick she is at making them… OK they are small, but still… Baby seems to have descended a little – we are both on egg shells wondering “when”. We’ll have to see…
Our thanks (so far) go to sisters in law Martine & Sylviane, my cousin Richard and his wife Jessica, Anne and Yoshi, John & Shirley, Catherine & Didier, Jeanne, and last but not least Isa’s Mum Clairette. Thanks too, to all our friends both in the UK and France who have stayed in touch with us.
