We’re really disappointed with the Summer in this part of France, rain, rain and if you are fed up with it, more rain… perhaps not quite the amount the UK has had – I mean, we’ve not been flooded out or anything. But still it hinders getting things done.
It also makes it difficult to take Rémy for a walk, although we did manage a trip to the nearby village of Aubin a few days ago where there are several lakes that form part of the Essonne river – It was nice to go for a walk and not be stuck in the house all the time.
Rémy really is changing though – getting bigger and heavier. 6kg and about 60cm, he’s going to be a big lad. He has got to the stage where he gives us a big grin if we both make silly laughing sounds at him – he’s a happy fellow. He is also starting to sleep much of the night, and sometimes a lot of the morning. He comes into his element in the latter part of the day but really he hasn’t been the whole lot of trouble we were expecting.
August is going to be a busy month. My friend Colin and his partner Lorna are coming down to see us from Leicester, arriving on Thursday – and staying for 5 days. They’ll be coming down on their motorbike and Colin hopes to propose to Lorna under the Eiffel Tower.
On the 15th of August we depart for the UK, coming back on the 29th. Much of our time will be spent in Leicester – so that Rémy can get to know his Grandma, Great Grandma and Great Uncle. We are a little bit stressed out wondering how we are going to fit everything in the car. In fact the trip up will be over-night with a 9.50am crossing from Boulogne to Dover. Still at 60€ return we can’t complain too much!
From the 25th until we make the return trip we’ll be staying with our friends John & Shirley in North Wales – that’ll be a nice mini holiday and we can’t wait to see them both.
Meanwhile – I’ve been selling a few things on Ebay, and buying stuff too. I bought a Standard 8 projector, which I’ll pick up from my Mum’s when we are in the UK. We also bought a new corner bench for our kitchen – which Isa will be going to pick up tomorrow. It will be nice to be able to sit in the kitchen to eat – and especially good for when Rémy gets a little older.
I have started a few new ventures/sites. My main site is now situated at http://www.essonneimage.co.uk – but then I bought another domain – http://www.busphotosforsale.co.uk – for a new photo sales operation I’m planning to start up. It’s all early days, but little by little I’m working on it.
Rather than post photos of us on here I’ve now started a page on Multiply where I’ll share pics and video of us and Rémy with friends, family and contacts. You will need to “join” – but you can find it at http://essonneimage.multiply.com.
Well that’s about it – approaching 2am – time for bed. Have a nice holiday wherever you are!
