Motorcycling in the 60’s at Mallory Park

Back in the 60’s my Dad was a bit of a biker. Going through some of his slides I came across these taken at the Mallory Park circuit, near Kirkby Mallory in Leicestershire.

The views aren’t of brilliant quality, but given that camera’s back then were rather different to the sort of thing we have now along with the fact that colour film was extremely expensive, I thought it worthwhile I include them on my blog. You can always check out the rainy views or the period publicity.  Racing motorbikes were a lot different in the 1960’s.

  1. Cool racing photos! I’ll bet your Dad had some interesting stories to tell about motocycles.

    My Dad once owned a famous American brand motorcycle in the 50’s, an “Indian” brand motorcycle. “Indian” motorcycles where a rival make to the famous “Harley Davidson” motorcycle.
