A ghost on the main road into our village…

The colour shot was taken today, but the overlay, is probably from the 1920’s. This is Avenue Saint Rémi, which leads off in the distance to the top of our street and the centre of our village. Our street was just a dirt track back in the 20’s – which ran around the southern edge of our village.

Since then 4 streets and a bypass have been built – in fact I guess our village would have been a hamlet more or less… even if it had a church, shop, a bar and a lavoir back then…

The car in the photo is a Citroën, I think and the Xtra shows today’s photo without the overlay.

How things change…
