Changes on the lane to the Marais de l’Essonne

Normally very little happens on this lane to a local wetlands conservation area, from our village, but it has always been in need of repair. Massive potholes make it a pain to drive on. Near the wetlands (les marais in French) is a level crossing over the main RER suburban rail line into Paris.

When I went for a walk yesterday with my daughter, 3 workmen were loitering about waiting for a load of gravel. A lorry was going back and forth to off load some. So we parked near the wider start of the lane then walked down to where they were working.

Around the corner, the triangular sign for the level crossing had been replaced. Before there was quite a vintage one there. Yet the sign below the new one hadn’t been replaced…
