This morning I had the surprise of my life. Isa had arranged for me (and the kids) to ride in a Citroën 2CV for 3 hours, around the local countryside, with a picnic stop at a ruined Abbey.
Hours later I’ve about come back down to earth!
Stéphane, the owner of the 2CV was lovely. Great host. He also hires it out for weddings. We chatted (in French) about his car and family. His wife is originally from Coventry.
Loved every minute, like a child in a sweetie shop. Took loads of video, so hope to do a film of the whole thing for my YouTube channel, once we get back home.
For the techies… It is a 2CV4 new in 1973. Basically the earlier version as it only has a 425cc engine. Later ones being the 2CV6 with a 602cc engine. Stéphane has owned it for 6 years. Still has a lot of original features including the interior. The roll back roof had to be replaced though, when during a function it flew off due the wind generated from a passing lorry.
