Back in August I had the surprise of my life. Mme Megabreadvan had arranged for me (and the kids) to ride in a Citroën 2CV for a few hours, around the local countryside, with a picnic stop in partially ruined ruined Abbey Notre Dame de Bochaud, near Brantôme where we always stay.
Stéphane, the owner of the 2CV was lovely. Great host. He also hires it out for weddings (link below). We chatted in French about his car and family. His wife is originally from Coventry.
Loved every minute, like a child in a sweetie shop. Hope you enjoy this footage!
For the techies… It is a 2CV4 new in 1973. Basically the earlier version as it only has a 425cc engine. Later ones being the 2CV6 with a 602cc engine. Stéphane has owned it for 6 years. Still has a lot of original features including the interior. The roll back roof had to be replaced though, when during a function it flew off due the wind generated from a passing lorry.
